Fortunately it had cooled down considerably when we awoke this morning, and a cool change came through during the afternoon.
We celebrated with my family at my sister's place.

There was, of course, gift giving...
And lots of food...

And then lots of sitting around (and some snoozing) and reviewing of gifts given and received.
